Design Options

The Following design options are available on nearly all models of MSI's amplifier lines. If any of the below options are desired, the corresponding suffix listed below should be added to the end of the amplifier model #

Corresponding Suffix Descriptions :

-AGC Automatic Gain Control is available to increase the dynamic range in a wide variety of microwave systems. AGC can be controlled by manual control, voltage control, or binary input.

-FIL Filters can be integrated into the amplifier to attenuate adjacent or harmonically related signals. Types of filters available include Bandpass, Highpass, and Lowpass.

-LIM Limiters can be included to protect the input stage from CW signals to 25 dBm typical.

-TC Temperature Compensation is used to reduce gain change over frequency.

None Hermetic Sealing is laser welding available for hermeticity, to be used primarily for compliance with military standard MIL-STD-8883 method 1014 for fine and gross leak testing.

None Coupled Ports are auxiliary output ports which can be included for power measurements, monitoring, and for AGC loops.

-DET Internal RF detectors can be included for output power level verification.

-TTL Digital TTL levels are used to place amplifier in standby mode, to reduce power consumption, and to provide better isolation.

-BIT A warning indicator as a Built-In-Test is used to signal catastrophic failure in an amplifier by monitoring device current.

-PS A Power Supply is incorporated into an amplifier to accept a wide variety of input voltages.

-RM Rack Mounted casings are available for most of MSI's model amplifiers. These units include AC/DC power supply, forced cooling if required, AC line filtering, and circuit breaker.

-C  A Class C amplifier is one which does not require linear power specifications.

-WW Specifies Waveguide input and output connectors.

-NN Specifies N-Type input and output connectors.

-DI Specifies Drop-In amplifier package.
